What Are Deemed Medical Colleges?

Deemed medical colleges are private institutions granted as “Deemed to be University” status by the Government of India under the University Grants Commission Act. • In general, the minimum % for (1), (2), and (3) are approximately the following:
• General Candidate - 50% of all PCB combined,
• SC/ST/OBC Candidate - 40% of all PCB combined,
• PWD Candidate - 45% of all PCB combined.

• The Student will be required to have attained the age of 17 years by or before December 31 of the academic year that they plan to enter;
• upper age limit: typically, no older than 25 for general candidates but based on state or federal statute at the time of admission for SC, ST, and OBC units.

3.  Entrance Exam:

• Admission is based on NEET score.
• Candidates must qualify NEET with the minimum qualifying percentile:

                1. General: 50 percentile

                2. OBC/SC/ST Candidates : 40 percentile

                3. PwD Candidates : 45 percentile

4.  Nationality:

• Only Indian citizens, NRIs and OCI/PIO Cardholders may apply.
• There are a few institutions that may offer seats to NRI/foreign students, and each institution may have slightly different requirements for determining eligibility.
